About Us

The University of Southampton has 5100 bed spaces in Halls of Residence, and 2100 of these are located at the Glen EYre Halls Complex. The Complex consists of eight University Residences, housing students in Beechmount House, Brunei House, Chamberlain Hall, Hartley Grove, Chancellor's Courts and in South Hill.
To ensure everybody has a good time, rules and regulations have been put in place. These can be found in your Halls Handbook.

The following numbers can be dialed from any halls phone. The NTL phone provided within your room allows free internal calls.

All queries can be directed through the Reception where the staff will be more than happy to answer your queries or to point you in the direction of someone who can.

All emergencies should be reported to reception as soon as possible so that the relevant staff and/or emergency service can be contact.

Insurance and Thefts

You will need to arrange your own personal contents insurance cover.
If any theft occurs, you should:

  1. Inform the Duty Warden or Hall Staff

  2. Report it immediately to the Police or ask the Duty person to do so. The nearest Police Stations are:

Complaints Service

If you would like to make a complaint about broken appliances, fixtures, fittings, or maintenance requests you should contact Halls Management.
If you would like to complain about another student you should contact the Warden.

If you are not satisfied with the outcome of your complaint, you can contact the Halls Management - 23277.
